Frank Potvin

Montgomery Center, VT - Frank Richard Potvin, 56, a resident of Rifle, CO and formerly of Montgomery Center, died unexpectedly on March 13, 2008 at his home in Rifle.

Frank was born on February 27, 1952 in Montgomery Center, the son of Ernest and Louise (Larivee) Potvin. He grew up in Brattleboro, VT and graduated from Brattleboro Union High School in 1970.

Frank moved to Wickenburg, AZ in 1975 and then to Rifle in 1978 where he married Carol Burris in 1982. Their marriage ended in divorce and he never remarried. Frank was working for HP GeoTech at the time of his death.

He will be remembered best for his big smile, generous nature and his easy laugh. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed a variety of interests including fishing, Tae Kwon Do, remodeling cars and his motorcycle and his annual family visit to Vermont during the fall foliage season. He will be greatly missed.

Franks survivors include his brothers Norman of Dracut, MA and Charlie and David both of Vernon, VT; his sisters Marie Potvin of Williamstown, VT, Carolyn Moore of Vernon, VT and Mary Potvin of Guilford, VT; two nieces; a nephew; one great-nephew; Rocky and Melanie Basinger and Doug and Cindy Fenney, his longtime neighbors and close friends who became his Colorado family .

A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Isidores Catholic Church in Montgomery on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Karl Hahr, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in the Potvin Family lot at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls.
