George Paul Ste. Marie

SHELDON - George P. Ste. Marie, age 71, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

He was born in Norwich, CT on September 4, 1942 the son of the late Lawrence & Rose (Gravlin) Ste. Marie.

George graduated from the Lamoille Central Academy in 1962. He was a lifelong dairy farmer; in 1973 he purchased the farm on Duffy Hill. He married Patricia (Patch) Ste. Marie on June 24, 1964. George was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Fairfield; where he served on the finance committee and he was also a member of the St. Albans Co-Op Creamery. He loved to go hunting and fishing; he especially enjoyed deep sea fishing with his grandson and family.

He leaves behind 3 children, Ellen Ste. Marie and her fianc Paige Horner of Enosburg, Constance Ashton of Franklin and Mark Ste. Marie and his wife Kathy Burns of Sheldon; grandchildren, Mandy-Jane Mayotte and her husband Ethan, Rarity Ashton, Ethan Tibbits and Hannah, Melanie & Justine Ste. Marie; a sister, Lucille Olsson and her husband Bruce of Silver Springs, MD and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Ste. Marie and granddaughter, Zoe Eva Ashton.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Patricks Catholic Church, 116 Church St., Fairfield, VT with Rev. Bill Giroux celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. There will be no visiting hours. Interment will be held this spring in St. Patricks Cemetery.
