SWANTON - Geraldine O. Jacobs, age 85, passed away Friday morning May 6, 2011 at the Franklin County Rehab Facility in St. Albans.
She was born in St. Albans on December 10, 1925 the daughter of the late Thaddeus & Evelyn (Sharby) Perron.
Geraldine has been a resident of Swanton for the past 17 years and was a former resident of Richford, Berkshire, St. Albans and Connecticut. Geraldine worked for many businesss during her working career including, Fonda Container & Hardack both in St. Albans, Gilmans Variety, A & P Market and Brouillettes Clothing Store all in Richford and Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut.
Geraldine was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Richford. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Roland R. Jacobs of Swanton; her son, Dennis Jacobs his wife Simone of Richford; her daughter, Betty Benoit her husband Pierre of Franklin; her grandchildren and their families, Roxanne Tanner her husband Robert and their son David, Karen Jacobs and her children, Kayla & Kenyon, Jody Benoit his wife Kathy and their children, Logan & Camryn, Laurie Benoit and her companion Keith Phelps, and John Jacobs and his partner Diane Tatro; her sister, Shirley Vincent of Holyoke, MA; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Geraldine was predeceased by 2 sons, Robert & Gary Jacobs; her step father, Raymond Bruce; her brother, Frederick Perron; and 2 sisters, Patricia Rowley and Mary Morse.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 2:00 PM at All Saints Cemetery in Richford with Rev. Karl Hahr officiating. There will be no visiting hours.
