RICHFORD- Glen M. Wetherby, age 35, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the University Medical Center.
He was born in Burlington on July 27th, 1987, to Peter and Vickie (Ricci) Wetherby.
Glen attended and graduated from Richford High School in 2005. Shortly after high school, Glen became a chef and worked in many local restaurants. Cooking and feeding people quickly became a passion.
At a young age, Glen was drawn to the outdoors, guns, and hunting. He was an avid hunter, and especially enjoyed deer hunting. Glen would spend a lifetime hunting, whether it was in the woods, a field, the snow, or out of state. The few animals that Glen would lay claim to are deer, turkey, and woodchucks. When hunting season was over, he went fish hunting.
Glen had a fierce love for his family. He never missed a birthday or a holiday, and always had the right girl to pick out the perfect gifts for the kids. He was the best guardian of the gifts on Christmas eve. His nieces and nephews looked forward to Uncle Glen being the first person they saw on Christmas morning. Glen was incredibly protective of his nieces and nephews, and everyone knew it.
Glen's friends that became his family could tell you that once you got past that wall, he wasn't as tough as he led on. He loved wholeheartedly and knew how to make you feel safe. Glen had a heart of gold and would help anyone with no expectations. Glen's true qualities are remarkable. He left an imprint on everyone's heart that he came across. There is truly no one out there exactly like him.
Glen was predeceased by his father Peter Wetherby and his beloved dog Jager.
He is survived by his mother, Vickie Ferland; brothers, Matthew Wetherby and his fiance Michelle, Dustin Wetherby and his wife Chelsee; nieces and nephews, Nicco, Sophia, Sienna, Harper, Luca, Keelie, Kaelynn, Kylah, Izabella, Dekota, and James; second father, Marc Ferland and his friend Cheri Cushing. He is also survived by Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and many dear friends that became family to him.
In keeping with Glen's wishes there will be no public services.
