RICHFORD - Gordon J. Boob Carr, age 70, passed away Sunday January 16, 2011 at the Pine Knoll Nursing Home in Lyndonville.
He was born in West Berkshire on June 24, 1940 the son of the late James Alvah & Maude Blanche (Dunham) Carr.
Gordon was a resident of Richford most of his life. He worked as a farm hand and loved to drive tractor, haying and cutting firewood with his brother Leon, nephew Larry and great nephew Lance. Gordon especially liked trains and listening to Hank Williams sing and play guitar. He also loved to walk around town and visit with people and he would always greet you with a friendly smile and a hand shake.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families including a very special great niece, Tracy Ovitt her husband Scott and their children, Kayla & Madison who had taken care of Gordon for the past 10 years and a special nephew, Larry Carr and his partner Lydia Lawyer; his sisters-in-law, Ethel Carr of St. Albans and Ruth Carr of Hardwick. Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his brothers, Frank, Norman, Harold Leon & Howard Carr; and his sisters, Clydia Clark & Glenna Juckett.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 3:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will take place this spring in the Berkshire Center Cemetery.
