West Enosburgh - Gordon L. Pete Fletcher, Sr., 83, passed away Tuesday morning, July 13, 2010 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
Pete was born on May 25, 1927 in Bakersfield, the son of Winfred and Lottie (Ladue) Fletcher. He attended Enosburg Elementary School and married Catherine D. Paronto on June 19, 1950.
A master electrician by trade, Pete was employed for 30 years at the Paper Mill in Sheldon. He had also done sugaring and haying with Patrick Vaillancourt. Pete enjoyed fishing, sports, dancing and, especially, hunting with his Canadian friends.
In addition to his wife Catherine of West Enosburg, Pete is survived by a son, Gary L. Fletcher of Norfolk, VA; a daughter Susan Robitaille and her significant other Frank Garrow of North Troy; his grandchildren, Travis, Alisha and Becky Robitaille, Gary Fletcher, Jr., and Amanda Guinn; his great grandchildren, Calem James Robitaille, Abigial, Jasmin, Carmin, and Jai; his siblings, Wendell C. Fletcher and his significant other Ruth of Swanton, Roy Fletcher and his wife Judy of Auburn Hills, MI and Ruth Brouillette and her husband Albert of Honeybrook, PA; sisters-in-law, Linda Fletcher of Swanton and Edna Fletcher of London, KY; nieces and nephews.
Pete was predeceased by a son, Gordon Fletcher, Jr. in 1992; 3 brothers, Bob Fletcher, Winfred Fletcher, Jr. and Tommy Fletcher; and a sister-in-law Betty Fletcher.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with the Rev. Jon P. Bly officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of Petes family at the Enosburgh Center Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
