ENOSBURGH CENTER - Hector D. Robert, age 81, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Hector was a man of few words, but great wisdom and will be missed by many.
Hector was born September 27, 1930 in South Richford. He married Barbara Brady in 1957. They lived for many years in Brewster, NY before buying the Quincy Hotel and moving back to Enosburg. They sold the hotel after six years and moved to Enosburg Center. Hector was a talented carpenter and inventor. There were very few things he couldnt fix, often in a creative way. He loved to work in his garage and in the woods, and spent long hours in both. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #42 in Enosburg Falls.
Hector is survived by his loving companion ReRe Cowell; his daughter Jean of Brewster, NY; his son Kirk and Tammy Burns of Enosburg; his son Garth and wife Teresa of Enosburg; sisters Claire, Therese, Pauline, and brother Paul; and a special sister in law Mary Ann Wallace and her family of Westminster, CA. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara, brother Patrick, and sisters Aurore, Simone, and Mary. Hector leaves many, many friends and relatives. He was a special, unassuming man who lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:30 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Avenue, Enosburg Falls with Rev. Roger Charbonneau officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held at the Spears Funeral Home on Friday evening from 4-7 PM.
