SHELDON - Helen M. Parent, age 88, widow of Ulys F. Parent, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Franklin County Rehab Center with her loving family at her side.

She was born October 13, 1924 in Highgate the daughter of the late Theophile & Imelda (Boucher) Rainville Jr.

Helen grew up and attended school in Highgate and also attended school in St. Armand, Quebec. She was an active member and communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she volunteered on many committees and was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann Society.

Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Dr. Andrew Parent of Ridgeland, MS, Pierre Parent and his wife Barbara of Sheldon, Pauline Parent of Burlington, Frank Parent of Jackson, MS, Theresa Sturgeon and her husband Gary of Highgate, Madeleine Norse and her husband Dale of Colchester, and Philip Parent and his wife Suzanne of Sheldon; her grandchildren, Stephen Parent and his wife Beth LeClair Parent, John Parent and his wife Susan, Michael Parent and his wife Sandy, Sara Timmerman and her husband Todd, Chantal Sturgeon, Patrick Sturgeon and his wife Jessica, Nicole Cusson and her husband Mark, Michelle LeClair and her husband Ben, and Thomas, Daniel & Amelia Parent; her great grandchildren, Devin & Creed Parent, Sophia & Addy Parent, Lucien, Mia & Isla Timmerman, Sebastian & Stella Parent, Matthew & Jacob Cusson, Celia LeClair and Clara Sturgeon; her brother, Maurice Rainville of Swanton; her brother-in-law and his wife, George & Rita Parent of West Enosburg; her sisters-in-law, Georgette Rainville of Highgate, Jeanne DArc Rainville of Winooski, and Sister Leda Parent SSM of St. Hyacinthe, Que., and Solange Rainville of St. Damase; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband Ulys Ferdinand Parent on March 9, 2006. Helen & Ulys were married on October 15, 1942. She was also predeceased by her infant son, Gerard Parent; her brothers, Wilfred, Henri, Emile, Rene, Raymond & J. Louis Rainville; her sisters, Marianne Desaney, Marguerite Beaulieu, and Yvonne Reil.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 222 Missisquoi St., Enosburg Falls with Helens nephew, Rev. Marcel Rainville, SSE celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Monday from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
