Helen F. Spears

ENOSBURG FALLS - Helen F. Spears, age 93, passed away at her home on Monday evening September 28, 2015.

She was born August 6, 1922 in Rutland the daughter of the late Earl & Ruth (Porter) Flanders.

Helen was a graduate of Rutland High School and married William E. Spears on December 15, 1943. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a former member of the Parish Council and Ladies of St. Anne Society. She enjoyed making ceramics and playing cards with the 500 Card Club .

She is survived by her children, William E, Spears Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Enobsurg Falls, Pamela Dodge and her husband Clark of Charlotte, and Patricia Stowe and her husband David of Enosburg Falls; her grandchildren, Kim Lawyer, Jennifer Ladue, Jody Luten, Robyn Spears, Megan Dodge, Amber Stowe & Autumn Stowe; her great grandchildren, Aspen & Gage Ladue, Nick, Allie & Noah Ladue, Journi & Isaiah Luten and Mallori Drolette-Spears; her sister, Joyce Bruner of Essex; sister-in-law, Pauline Flanders of South Burlington; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, William E. Spears Sr. on June 20, 1981; and her brother, Earl Bud Flanders.

Helens family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff at Franklin County Home Health, also Theresa, Sonja, Kathy & Susie and all of her granddaughters for the special care she received which made it possible for her to remain at home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 222 Missisquoi St., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment was in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

Visiting Hours will be held Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
