EAST SHELDON - Herbert William Pokey Sweet, age 66, passed away unexpectedly at his home Monday March 19, 2007.
\tHe was born April 1, 1940 in Bakersfield the son of the late Elvin & Zoa (Wright) Sweet
\tPokey was a very hard worker having farmed and logged for many years. He especially loved to cut wood. He loved his cats and dogs. He enjoyed watching wrestling with his son Danny, going to the fairs throughout the area, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved his children and grandchildren dearly.
\tHe is survived by 2 sons, Joseph & Daniel Sweet both of Sheldon; 3 daughters, Nena Sweet and her companion Steve Philips of Enosburg, Viola Snider and her husband Mark of Sheldon, and Louise Dudley and her husband Hugh Jr. of Berkshire; his grandchildren, Earle Rogers Jr. and his fianc Regina Cameron of Cabot, Gregory, Owen & Wade Snider all of Sheldon, Christopher, Cole & Hugh III Dudley of Berkshire; 2 brothers, Melvin Sweet of Enosburg, and Edward Sweet and his wife Sherry of St. Albans; a sister Doris Wedge and her husband Kevin of Addison; a bother-in-law, Steve Blanchard of Enosburg; his sisters-in-law, Sharlene Sweet of Enosburg, and Pauline Sweet of Richford; several nieces, nephews and many friends around the area. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Corinne (Benjamin) Sweet; a brother, Chester Sweet; a sister, Mildred Blanchard.
\tIn keeping with Pokeys wishes he will be cremated and there will be no funeral services or visiting hours. Pokeys family invites family and friends to stop by Dannys place to visit and pay their respects at anytime.
