BERKSHIRE - Herman E. Kane, age 85, passed away on April 2, 2013, at Winter Haven Hospital in Florida due to heart failure.
Herman was born in St. Bridgett, Quebec, Canada, on January 6, 1928, the son of Eddie and Marie (Martin) Kane.
Herman\u0027s happiest moments were in his workshop where he cleverly manufactured parts and repaired machinery for his many friends. How he loved to "putter", as he called it, and will be missed by many.
Herman is survived by his wife, Joan Kane of Berkshire; his son, Ken and his friend Nicki of Enosburg; his daughter, Monica and her husband Tony Tussing of Deland FL, their two sons, Leith (Jen) of Orlando, FL and Ethan (Shannon) of Richmond, VA; his brothers, Andy and his wife Bette of Enosburg and Dennis and his wife Rita of Ware, MA; his sisters, Bea Reynolds of Enosburg, Alice Swainbank of St. Albans and Pat and her husband Ted Breure of South Burlington; sisters-in-law, Alfreda Kane of Sheldon and Gloria Kane of Fairfield; brother-in-law, Richard Putnam of St Albans; stepsons, Brad Forty of St Albans; Gregory Forty, Matt Forty and his wife Kim all of Franklin and Todd Forty of Berkshire and stepdaughters, Jennifer Dewing and her husband Jim of Franklin and Stephanie Podgorski and her husband Gregory of Logan, UT.; many nieces nephews & cousins. Besides his parents, Herman was predeceased by his wife, Claire Quenneville, mother of his children; his son, Gary H. Kane; his brothers, Walter Kane from Sheldon and Frank Kane from Fairfield and his sister Edna Putnam from Georgia.
Graveside committal prayers will be held Friday, June 14, 2013 at 2:00 PM at St. Anthonys Catholic Cemetery, Mill Street, Sheldon. Herman passed away at the age 85 on April 2, 2013, at Winter Haven Hospital in Florida due to heart failure.
