ENOSBURG FALLS / SHELDON - Irmalee I. Kane - On December 15th, 2012 the world lost a special lady. Irmalee Ines Kane left this world to join her beloved husband, Marcel.
Irmalee was born in Enosburg Center on October 5th, 1933, the daughter of John and Glenna Ploof. On May 29th, 1954, Irmalee married the love of her life, Marcel Kane. They were meant to be from the beginning, as their parents lived across the road from one another before Irm and Marcel were born, just a single day apart. Together they raised six children on their family farm in Sheldon. Born an only child, Irmalee wanted to surround herself with family and fill her home with love.
Irm was a wonderful cook. She made amazing meals, beautiful crafts, and holiday decorations. She was active in participating and directing productions at the Enosburg Opera House. She enjoyed this very much, and the shows brought joy to many people.
Marcel and Irm loved to travel. They made friends wherever they went. No one was a stranger for long. Their camp at Lake Carmi was their own paradise. A place where friends were always welcome and our greatest family memories were made on sunny Sunday afternoons.
Irm made every day special and every holiday magical. She was the glue that held her family together. Irmalee and Marcel instilled the importance of family in all of us. They believed in celebrating life every chance you get. We proudly carry on that family tradition.
Irm is survived by her children Linda and Andre Gagne, Donna and Mark Kane, Thomas and Nancy Kane, Sherry and David Underwood, Jeffrey and Shannon Kane, and Susan and Gary McAllister. She is also survived by her pride and joy, her grandchildren: Josh, Jody, Jacob, Aaron, Hilarie, Ashley, Shannon, Jennifer, Abbey, Samantha, Sabrina, Chelsea, Whitney, Lee and Katie. Irmalee s little loves, her great grandchildren: Riley, Camryn, Jordan, Garrett, Silas, Ella, Hazel, Peter, Gretchen, Sawyer, Madison, Hailey, James, Ava Lily, Emma, and Sullivan; several brother in-laws, including Ralph Kane, who lived with Irm and Marcel until recently. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Irm was predeceased by her parents, her husband Marcel, several sisters and brothers-in-law and by our special little angel, Hope Stiebris, Irmalees great grandchild.
