ALBURGH- James A. Letourneau, age 90, passed away on Thursday, September 14th, 2023 at his home with his close -knit family by his side.
He was born in Alburgh on March 19, 1933 to the late Norman and Rena (Pearo) Letourneau.
James, better known as Jimmy, raised his family with the love of his life, Lizzie, in the same house he was born in. He had an appreciation for the simple things in life and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Jimmy enjoyed things like feeding his cardinals and chipmunks, visiting the casino, and tending a garden. On a nice summer day Jimmy could be found fishing or lawn saling with Lizzie. He taught himself how to play guitar as a child and passed his passion of music down to his family. Jimmy spent many hours playing guitar with sons Mark and David. His love of music and guitar came in handy for the famous New Years Eve parties Jimmy and Lizzie would host. If you were lucky enough, you'd get to hear Jimmy and Lizzie singing together. In his earlier years Jimmy played in many bands and was well known at the local establishments. Jimmy had a passion for baseball, especially the Red Sox and his son Todd's softball team, the Beavers. Jimmy could be considered a number one fan and rarely missed a chance to catch a game or buy a round of cold ones for the team. Jimmy will also be remembered for his boisterous laugh and piercing blue eyes. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Deborah Mangan and her husband David, Mark Letourneau and his partner Michael Trudo, and Todd Letourneau; grandchildren, Stephanie Willson and her partner Tim Buswell, Ellen Willson, Matthew Wilson, Daniel Mangan and his partner Jessica, Brendan Letourneau and Sarah Garrow; great-grandchildren, Emma, Owen, Peyton, Evanthia, Paisley, Jake, Kinsley, Dakota, Noah, and James; and partner, Goldie Cadieux; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Rena and Norman Letourneau Sr; wife, Elizabeth Letourneau; son, David Letourneau and siblings Lawrence, Norman Jr. and Carl Letourneau, and Loretta Smith.
