Janet Marie Forsyth

November 15, 1932 — February 16, 2016

Janet M. Forsyth, age 83, passed away Feb. 16, 2016 at home with her loving family by her side.

Janet was born in Swanton on November 15th 1932. She was the daughter of the late Aldege Rocheleau and the late Emelia (Moreau) Rocheleau. She attended St. Annes Academy and she graduated in 1951. Janet then went on to graduate from The Mary Fletcher School of X-Ray Technology in 1953. Janet worked at St. Peters Hospital in Albany NY and later returned to Kerbs Hospital in St. Albans as head of the Radiology Department.

While working at Kerbs, Janet met the man who would become her partner for life, Thomas Forsyth III. They were married at The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in Swanton, in 1955. Janet and Tom owned and operated Forsyths Florist on Spring Street in Swanton for seven years. In 1973 Janets family moved to DeLand Florida where Janet went to work for the Volusia County School System as well as owning and managing several rental properties together with her husband. They lived in Florida for 23 years before they decided to once again call Swanton home.

Janet is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, and her siblings Roland Rocheleau and wife Marie, Irene Casey wife of the late Kenneth Casey, Andre Rocheleau and wife Stella, Edna Casey and husband Mark, and Yvonne Fradet wife of the late Victor Fradet all of Florida. Brother in Law James and wife Cynthia and sister in law Eleanor and husband William Wood.

Janet is also survived by her son Thomas IV and wife Brenda and their sons Thomas V and wife Wendy and their children Jenna, Thomas VI, Paisley and Ryder of Colorado; Joseph and his wife Heidi of Washington State; and Corporal Kenneth Forsyth USMC of California.

Janet is also survived by her only daughter Sara and Saras son Jesse Forsyth.

Janet is also survived by her son Timothy and wife Heather and their children Parker, Tyler and fiance Chelsea Ellis, Logan, Jake, Olivia, and granddaughter Aliah Ladue.

Janet is also survived by many special nieces and nephews as well as very close friends, Lonney Grandchamp, and the St. Francis Family and many special friends.

There will be no calling hours. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 27th 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St., Swanton. Father Luke P. Austin will be the celebrant and homilist. Father Thomas D. Nadeau will concelebrate. The Rite of Committal and Interment will take place at a later date in St. Marys Roman Catholic Cemetery.
