FRANKLIN - Janet T. Magnant, age 83, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
She was born in St. Albans on February 14, 1932 to the late Merrill Magnant & Lucy (Perrotte) Garrow.
Janet spent her working career at Union Carbide in St. Albans. After retirement she became the full time care giver to her mother and step-father, Harland until their passing. She enjoyed traveling, especially on her various bus trips as well as 2 trips to Scotland. Janet was a giving person that would do anything for anybody; she was always willing to bring someone to church or an appointment. Her favorite hobby was playing cards and she would attend several card parties around the area.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Wright of St. Albans; 2 nieces, Kathy Beaudoin and her husband Greg of Jeffersonville and Debra Swan and her husband Gary of Colchester; great niece & nephews, Ashley, Garrett and Erik; close friends, Lorraine Longley and Sue Richards and several others. Besides her parents, Janet was predeceased by her step-father, Harland Garrow.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Marys Catholic Church, School St., Franklin. Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Franklin.
A time of visitation was held on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 4-7 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
