ENOSBURG FALLS / SHELDON - Janet (Montgomery) Wells, age 83, wife of Kenneth Bud Wells, passed away at her home on Monday, December 28, 2015 with her loving family at her side.
Janet was born September 8, 1932 in Fairfield the daughter of the late, Dell & Lela (Derosia) Montgomery.
Janet was a 1951 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School and always looked forward to attending her class reunions. Her working career started at Fondas in St. Albans for 10 years before taking a break to raise her family. She then worked at Softlite in Swanton for a few years before working at I.B.M. in Essex for 12 years retiring in 1996.
Janet loved to play BINGO at the Sheldon Casino and the Owls Club in St. Albans. She also enjoyed working in her vegetable, flower and Rock gardens, listening to country music, riding her bicycle on the Rail Trail everyday with Bud, dancing with Bud and following the Allard Brothers Band wherever they were playing, going to Sunday Breakfasts with friends at the Country Pantry in Fairfax, and taking photos as well as creating many family photo albums. Family was very important to Janet and she cherished the time spent with them whether it was going to lunch with her sisters or helping take care of her grandchildren. Since May of this year Janet and Bud have made their home with their daughter Terri and her children which gave her the opportunity to be a significant part of their lives.
Janet is survived by her husband, Bud Wells of Enosburg Falls. Janet & Bud were married August 9, 1950. She is also survived by her children, Larry Wells of Enosburg Falls, Valerie Lehoullier and her husband Maurice of Swanton, Donna Reed and her husband George of Cumming, GA, Lauri Paradis of St. Albans, and Terri Wells of Enosburg Falls; her grandchildren, Travis, Elena, Tim, Tony, Pam, Jodi, Kylee, Cortney, Danielle, Alicia, Kenny, Erynne, Brandyn, Makenna & Cayla; numerous great grandchildren; her sister, Jackie McDonald of Franklin, NH; her in-laws, Corrine Wanzer of Enosburg Falls, Harold Neil Wells and his wife Jackie of Mallets Bay, and Philip Wells of Enosburg Falls; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Janet was predeceased by her grandson, Ricky Reed; her brothers, Oakley, Wayne, Philip, Wendell, Alton, Merriman, Frederick and Robert Montgomery; her sisters, Beatha Ploof, Bernice Montgomery, Phyllis Robarge, Vera Emch, Ruth Randall and Betty Neveau; and her sister-in-law, Janice Montgomery.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 1, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will be next spring in the Sheldon Village Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.
