EAST BERKSHIRE - Jeannette D. Robitaille, age 90, widow of Maurice Robitaille, passed away Wednesday April 22, 2009 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Paul & Ellie Robitaille, with her loving family at her side.
She was born October 18, 1918 in LAnge Gardien, Quebec the daughter of the late Olivier & Salome (Gemme) St. Jules.
Jeannette was a devoted wife, mother & grandmother, and took pride in being a homemaker, working on the farm and raising her family. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church in East Berkshire. She enjoyed playing cards especially 500 and Sundays with her family. She also liked to go to BINGO every week with her friends. Jeannette & Maurice were married August 1, 1936.
She is survived by her children, Leon Robitaille of West Swanton, Rosaire Robitaille and his wife Rachelle of Montgomery, Rolande Robitaille of Bethanie, Quebec, Raymonde Couture and her husband Paul of No. Berkshire, Denise Lafontaine of East Berkshire, Norman Robitaille and his wife Bonnie of Richford, Jeannine Hall of Jacksonville, FL, Rene Robitaille and his companion Debbie Gross of Enosburg, Roger Robitaille and his companion, Lisa Howard of Enosburg, and Paul Robiatille and his wife Ellie of East Berkshire; 36 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren; a half brother, Bertrand St. Jules of Quebec; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parent, Jeannette was predeceased by her husband Maurice in 1999; infant children, Normand in 1948, Jeannine in 1947, and Micheline in 1958; a granddaughter, Jacqueline Couture in 1964, grandson, Robert Robitaille in 1982; sons-in-law, George Lafontaine in 1973, Gilles David in 2000, and Kirk Hall in 2001; daughter-in-law, Deseiges Robitaille in 2004; brothers, Fredela, Doriva, and Oliva St. Jules, half brothers, Auguste & Gilles St. Jules; and a half sister, Hermine Messier
Funeral services will be held Monday April 27, 2009 at 1:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Richford.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
