Jedediah Perkins Ladd Jr., Age 88, passed away peacefully June 19, 2017 in the Villa Rehab Center in St Albans, Vt.
Born in St. Albans on July 15, 1928, he was the son of the late Jedediah P. Ladd, Sr. and Ethel (Miller) Ladd of Alburgh Springs, Vt. He attended schools in Alburgh and Hartford, CT.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Janet (Oman) Ladd. Jed and Janet celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary June 7, 2017. His children; Kathy (David), Cindy (Steve), Diana (Mike) and Debbie (David). Grandchildren; Anna, Sara, Alison, Maggie, Jan, Ellen, and Jonathan. Four great-grands and counting. Brother Herbert, sister-in-law Joyce, several nephews and nieces and many good friends.
In addition to his parents, Jed was pre-deceased by brothers Paul and Philip, sisters-in-law Katherine and Pat, niece Hillary and many faithful well-trained fur babies.
He enjoyed various professions including building contractor and developer, teaching Industrial Arts and Realtor.
Jed was a longtime member of the Columbus Lodge #11 F&AM in Alburgh, VT. Jed was proud of being a lifelong resident of Grand Isle County, although he was known to complain just a little about taxes.
Jed felt a great sense of accomplishment in attaining his private Pilots License at a senior-ish age. He enjoyed many flights with his flying buddies Cecil Percy and Brett Sylvester. Jed also forged very close friendships with many Vermont State Troopers.
Per Jeds request, there will be no visiting hours or services. A Celebration of Jeds Life
will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family.
