RICHFORD - Jessie F. Jacobs, age 93, passed away Friday morning October 16, 2009 at her home with her loving family at her side.
She was born September 11, 1916 in South Richford, VT the daughter of the late Ethan & Ines (Combs) Hogaboom.
Jessie was a lifelong resident of Richford and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. She was a homemaker, farmer, sugarmaker and also took great pleasure in her flower gardens. She also loved to read, every book opened a new world to her.
She raised her family on the family farm in Richford and eventually helped raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her greatest pleasure and love in life was her family, she always looked forward to their visits and they always looked forward to her wonderful home cooked meals. Jessie always saw the good in everyone, her understanding heart and generosity made her special to everyone who knew her. She loved everyone and everyone loved her.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Arlene Peters and Lora Jacobs both of Richford; 2 sons and their wives, Roger & Shirley Jacobs of Enosburg, and Steven & Judith Jacobs of Richford; 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Jessie was predeceased by her husband, George A. Jacobs; her son, George A. Jacobs Jr.; a brother, Frank Hogaboom; and 2 sisters, Bessie Kennett and Flora Marcy.
A graveside service will be held Monday, October 19, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Richford Center Cemetery on the South Richford Rd., Richford. There will be no visiting hours.
