BERKSHIRE CENTER - Joan Elizabeth Goodrich, age 82, passed away, Monday morning, August 15, 2016 at her home with her loving family at her side.
She was born January 23, 1934 in Sheldon the daughter of the late Daniel & Elizabeth (Young) Macomber.
Joan married Kenneth Goodrich on March 14, 1951. She worked at the Montgomery School House Toy Factory: and Fonda Container in St. Albans. She then worked as an assistant to Sheila Trudeau and then Doreen LaPlant at the Hair A Rangers Beauty Solon in Enosburg Falls for several years. She attended the East Franklin Union Church.
Joan was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed following Jeff Gordon. She also enjoyed camping at Loudon during race week and riding motorcycle with friends. Joan & Ken spent 15 winters in Florida, 5 of which they took their Bassett Hound, Buddy.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Goodrich of Berkshire Center; her children and their spouses, Jeffrey & Lynne Goodrich of Milton, Linda & Alfred Zenisky of Berkshire, Kathy & Terry Tatro of Richford, David Mike & Deb Goodrich of Berkshire, and Thelma & Bill Edwards of St. Albans; 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; her sisters, Nancy Trudo of MD, and Judith Traylor and her husband Ronald of Texas; and a brother, Daniel Danny Macomber and his wife Rene of MD; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by Thelma & Lynwood Nutting who raised her; her sister, Susan Ploof; and her brothers, Robert Buddy , & Peter Macomber, and James Nutting.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the East Franklin Union Church, 4610 Lake Road/Vermont Route 120, East Franklin with Rev. Jason McConnell officiating. Interment will follow in the East Franklin Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
