Joan Russell

Joan Elaine "Earlene" Russell, 69, passed away on February 18, 2025, in Highgate, Vermont. Born on March 26, 1955, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Joan lived a life filled with love, family, and cherished pastimes.

 Joan is lovingly remembered by her children: daughter Brandie Russell-Martin and her husband Ed Martin, daughter Jill Davis and her fiancé Mitchell Myers, and son Aaron Russell and his partner Dawn Yandow. She also leaves behind her brothers: Richard Russell and his wife Pamela, Joseph Russell, and Thomas Russell. Joan was a devoted grandmother to Kylee Pierce, Nathan Pierce, Cody Russell, Bailee Martin, Tyler Davis, and Chloe Davis, as well as a great-grandmother to Peyton Carpenter, Tristan Russell, and Isabella Russell. She shared a close bond with her dear friend and partner George Ladabouche and treasured the lifelong friendship of Cathy Renaudette. She was predeceased by her mother, Carolyn Myers, and sisters Donna Trieb and Diana Johnson. 

Joan had a passion for houseplants and found joy in tending to them. She also loved exploring garage sales in search of hidden treasures. These simple pleasures brought her happiness throughout her life. 

Friends and family will be invited to Joan’s life celebration to include visitation on Friday, February 28th, 2025 from 2-3:00PM a memorial service will follow at 3:00PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, VT 05488. 

Joan’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
