Joey Swan

BERKSHIRE – Joey D. Swan, age 73, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at his daughter’s home in Berkshire.

He was born in Waynesburg, PA on July 2, 1951 to the late Jack & Dorothy (Eisenmenger) Swan.

Growing up in Ohio, Joey was a man of simple pleasures and great joy. He married the love of his life, Valerie (Williams), on July 31, 1970, embarking on a beautiful journey together that would last a lifetime. Joey dedicated the majority of his working career to General Motors, where he proudly served as a union appointee for 33 years.

After retiring, Joey moved to Florida, where he could enjoy his passion: golf. Working at Fox Hollow Golf Club allowed him to indulge in his favorite sport while enjoying the chance to play for free. In his younger years, Joey found joy in watching NASCAR races and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was also a proud member of the Masons.

Joey is survived by his children, Kevin Swan and his wife Carrie of Girard, OH, and Heather Cogley of Berkshire; grandchildren, Jaclyn Swan, Dianna Cogley and her partner Josh, and Rikki “JoJo” Cogley and her partner Colton; great grandchildren, Camdyn Brooker, and Ryker Loyer; his sister, Lorraine “Sis” Swan; aunt, Pam Swan and her daughters, Melanie & Natalie, special friends, Lisa & Bella Oliver, and Kaitlyn Therrien (his Ax Thrower); and his faithful caregiver, Sharon Fortin. In addition to his parents, Joey was predeceased by his wife, Valerie Swan; grandson, Trent Swan; and son-in-law, Samuel Therrien.

In keeping with Joey’s wishes, there will be no public services for him.
