John Barratt

FLORIDA / VERMONT - John R. Barratt, age 82, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Sturgill Hospice House in Brooksville, Florida with his family by his side.

John was born on August 21, 1942, in Swanton to William and Ellamae (Young) Barratt.

John was active in the military throughout his life, serving a combined 21 and ½ years in the Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force. Following this, he worked for the town of Rochester, NH as the maintenance mechanic and supervisor for over 20 years.

John is survived by his daughter, Peggy Mallett; grandson, Jason Barratt; great grandchildren, Jade, Christian, and Mason Barratt; brothers, David Barratt, Emerson "Tiny" Barratt; and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his first wife, Emma Barratt in 2007, and Sally Barratt in 2021, and nine brothers.

The family would like to thank Carol Countryman who was always there for John.

Friends and family will be invited to John's life celebration that will be announced at a later date.
