GEORGIA - John W. Brier, age 74, passed away on Thursday, December 20th at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington.
John was born in St. Albans on May 25, 1949, to Edmund and Roseanna (Morin) Brier.
John's life journey was one of resilience, perseverance, and an unyielding spirit. His unwavering work ethic was widely admired, reflecting his passion and dedication in everything he pursued. In addition, John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He faithfully served his tours in Vietnam before being honorably discharged. Attaining the rank of Sergeant, John's military service spoke volumes about his courage, bravery, and commitment to protecting his fellow countrymen.
John's amiable nature and kind-hearted demeanor endeared him to those around him. He possessed an infectious energy and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Known for his incredible skills as a builder, John approached every project with enthusiasm and determination, leaving a lasting impact in his craft.
However, above all else, John treasured his family and loved ones, especially his daughter, Macaela whom he was her biggest supporter and helping hands. He was married to his beloved wife, Linda Brier, for an incredible 44 years.
John is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Brier; daughter, Macaela Brier; siblings, Steven Brier and his partner, Penny and Robert Brier and his wife Denise; brothers-in-law, Johnny Gebo, Jim Hoffman and Robert Garrow Sr; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Edmund and Roseanna Brier, John was predeceased by his siblings, Joe and his wife Nancy, Mary, Jenette, Teresa and her husband Furman, Susan, and Ken.
A big thank you to John's brothers for their support and compassion through this difficult time.
Family and friends are invited to John's life celebration events on Thursday, December 28th, 2023, to include visitation from 12:30-1:30PM with a funeral service following at 1:30PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, VT 05488.
