FRANKLIN - John P. Jack Granger, age 69, passed away Friday evening July 15, 2011 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
He was born July 17, 1941 in Franklin the son of the late Adrian L. & Beatrice I. (Mills) Granger.
Jack was a 1959 graduate of Franklin High School and following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1959 receiving an honorable discharge in 1963. Jack was employed in the construction field working for various companies including, Donvac, Terry Lamos and Dennis White. He enjoyed growing tomatoes, working on trucks & motorcycles, listening to music and playing different instruments by which he was self- taught and played by ear. He also enjoyed and doing the New York Times crossword puzzles which he usually did successfully without a dictionary. His family will remember him as a master craftsman relying on Jack to fix or repair what appeared to be the unfixable.
He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Hopkins her husband Mark and their children, Vickie, Sam & David of North Carolina; his brothers, Allen Granger and his wife Sue of East Calias, and Richard Granger and his wife Joy of Essex Junction; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his brother, Adrian Eddie Granger in 1985.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday July 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery in Franklin.
A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.
