HIGHGATE CENTER - John Burnor Jr., age 34, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 1, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
He was born in St. Albans, January 25, 1981 the son of John Burnor Sr. and the late Linda (Salter) Burnor.
John was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Missisquoi Valley Union High School. He was employed at various places including Lucille Farms in Swanton and Franklin Foods in Enosburg Falls as a cheese maker, John Burnor Sr., All Seasons Siding, Dan Mendl, Sr., and for himself doing small construction and siding jobs around the state.
John enjoyed working, water sports, fishing trips to Cape Cod, working with his Dad, antique autos and antiquing, walks with his girls, bike rides with them, watching movies and making them dinner, popcorn with Jazzy Salter on weekends. He loved spending time as a child sorting Avon and countless hours with Uncle Bob and Aunt Martha, who loved you like a son.
He is survived by his daughters, Cossondra and Julia Burnor; his father, John Burnor Sr. of East Highgate, his brothers, Andrew Burnor & Jeremy Burnor of Swanton and Daniel Burnor of East Highgate ; his sister, Cheyene McDade of East Highgate ; many aunts & uncles including Martha Graham and her husband Robert of Highgate Center with whom Johnny made his home; Joan and William Horne of Arizona, their children, Christina, Chandra, April and their families; Keith Graham and Carolyn Gadbous, who loved him like a brother; mother of his children, Jane Woodard; Rose Salter, Raymond Salter III, Jazzmine Salter, whom he loved very much and helped him until his death; his family Dog, Jack. He was predeceased by his grandparents Leon and Nellie Burnor and Dan Mendl Sr., who loved him very much.
In keeping with Johnnys wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at the Rice Hill Methodist Church at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Officiant will be Johnnys friend and kayak buddy, Terri Blizzard; music selection by Mary Jo Gillilan.
