MONTGOMERY - It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Matthew Koloshey, a beloved husband, son, and friend, who peacefully departed from this world on October 31, 2023, on his favorite holiday of the year, Halloween.
Born on April 28, 1967, in Haverhill, MA, John is the son of Valarie (Capodelupo) Koloshey and the late James Koloshey.
John pursued his education and earned a Bachelor's degree in economics from George Mason University, a foundation that paved the way for his career in the marketing industry. John possessed a unique ability to connect with people, despite his introverted nature. His quiet demeanor was often accompanied by a genuine warmth that endeared him to those fortunate enough to cross his path.
Beyond his professional pursuits, John was a man of many passions. He possessed an innate curiosity and an affinity for tinkering with mechanical clocks and electronics, always seeking to uncover the beauty hidden within unique and unexplored realms. His love for sports manifested itself in his support for the Minnesota Vikings, Boston Bruins, and Baltimore Orioles. Moreover, John's compassionate spirit extended to the animal kingdom, as he rescued and cherished numerous dogs and cats throughout his lifetime.
John will forever be remembered for his intellectual curiosity, his advocacy for the uncommercialized, and his gentle heart. His absence leaves a void that will be felt by his beloved wife, Lisa Farabee; his mother, Valerie Koloshey; step-children, Jon "Mike" Farabee, and Robin and her husband Casey; grandson, Nathan Farabee; sister, Elizabeth (Koloshey) Suddeth; his aunt, Donna; as well as his extended family and close friends, Wayne Mott, Randy Riker, and Eric Rothman. John was predeceased by his father, James Koloshey; and his aunt, Pam Koloshey.
John's family will be holding a private celebration of his life at a later date.
For those who wish, contributions in John's memory may be made to the Franklin County Animal Rescue, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans, VT 05478.
