BERKSHIRE - John C. Legault, age 64, passed away unexpectedly at his home from natural causes on Thursday, January 22, 2015.
He was born on the family farm in Richford, VT on August 26, 1950 the son of Germain Legault and the late Simon (Proulx) Legault.
He was a 1968 graduate of Richford High School. Following graduation John worked at H.K. Websters (Blue Seal Feeds) in Richford for a brief period. He then entered the United States Marine Corp from 1969-70 serving in Vietnam for one tour of duty. Following his honorable discharge he went back to work at H.K. Websters. In 1971 John married Monica Mudgett and they had had 3 children. Beginning in 1984 John and Monica owned and operated a veal farm until 1992. He then drove truck for William Holdman, Inc. until military service related health issues caused him to retire. John was a member of the D.A.V. Commanders Club.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly Legault-Forty and her husband Matthew of Franklin, Tracie Hammond and her husband Scott of Tampa, FL, and Michael Legault and his wife Angie of Berkshire; his grandchildren, Ryan Legault and his wife Jessi, Ethan Legault, his great grandson Mason, his many loving step grandhildren, his father, Germain Legault of Bedford, Quebec; his mother-in-law, Shirley Mudgett of Richford; his brother, Maurice Legault and his wife Paulette of Richford; his sisters, Ginette Whitehead and her husband Chuck of Anchorage, AK, Marielle St.Pierre and her husband Bertrand of Richford, Madeleine Lelivre of Montreal, Quebec, and Helen Legault of Bedford, Quebec; many nieces and nephews. Besides his mother, John was predeceased by his loving wife, Monica (Mudgett) Legault on August 25, 2010.
In keeping with Johns wishes funeral services will be private. Interment at the Berkshire Center Cemetery with military honors will be privately held this spring.
