Joseph "Buzzy" Lulek
March 17, 1940 — March 19, 2018
SWANTON - Joseph G. Buzzy Lulek, age 78, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
He was born in Rutland, VT on March 17, 1940 to the late Joseph & Ruth (McIntire) Lulek.
Buzzy grew up and attended school in Rutland. He worked as a foreman for Rutland Tree Service for many years. On July 24, 1970 he married Dorothy (Alexander) and they moved to Swanton shortly after. Buzzy loved racing and he even raced the #33 car at Devils Bowl. Buzzy was an animal lover, and his favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing and playing the bones. He was also a proud member of the National Rifle Association and the Abenaki Nation of Missisquoi.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Dorothy Lulek; 5 children, Steven J. Lulek and his wife Sherry of Chittenden, Sherry Lulek and her partner Mike Howrigan of Westford, Lori Lulek of St. Albans, Sandra Stone and her husband Timothy of Highgate and William Lulek and his wife Tonya of St. Albans; 11 grandchildren, Nicole, Christopher, Adrian, Ruth (Travis), Anthony (Kellie), Richard (VW), Andilyn (Mark), Chris, (Christine), Codi, Cammeron & Caleb; 10 great grandchildren, Grace, Clohie, Connor, Garrett, Mason, Oliver, Allison, Hannah, Zachary, and Aydan is due later this year; his brother, Chester Lulek and his wife Agnes of Goshen, MA; siblings-in-law, Arthur Alexander and his wife Mary, Bernard Alexander and his wife Barbara, Robert Alexander, and Barbara all of Rutland; several nieces & nephews and his beloved cat, Charlie and dog, Precious. Besides his parents, Buzzy was predeceased by a daughter, JoAnn Lulek and siblings-in-law, Earl Alexander and his wife Marie, Cleo Alexander, Marie Graham, and Patricia Alexander.

A funeral service will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. Visitation will be held on Friday at Kidder Memorial Home from 2:00 PM until the hour of the service.
