Jo grew up in Enosburgh and graduated from Enosburg Falls High School in 1960. In 1961 she married Lynn Buster Fletcher who predeceased her March 20, 2011. Jo loved her family very much and was a mother and grandmother to her own and a large extended family. She was Grandma Jo to many children throughout the years. Even the worst acting kids behaved when they were with Grandma Jo and loved her for it. Weekly Sundays Dinners at Buster & Jos were looked forward to by not only family but many friends.
She enjoyed socializing, going to BINGO, and playing cards with the girls. She enjoyed many laughs at the Eating Meeting with her friends and working with friends and family at River Street House of Pizza. Jo was a woman of strong opinion and was not afraid to voice it. She was very creative and known for her witty poems and award winning Halloween costumes. She was also an avid reader and a devoted Red Sox fan.
She was the mother to Kelli Peters and her fianc, Michael Lawyer of Richford, Jody Fletcher of Richford, Aaron Fletcher and his wife Vicki of Richford, and Hailey Jewett and her companion James Latimer of Fairfax; her grandchildren, Amanda, Ben, Amy, Emily, Riley, Jacob, Macie, Zach, Samantha, Katie, Evan and Emma; and a great granddaughter, Natalie born March 21, 2011. Jos family would like to let everyone know how happy and grateful we are to all the staff at NMC. Since we spent so much time there in the past few months, we have been treated so good by the ED doctors & nurses, concierge services, respiratory personnel and the rest of the support staff, especially Dr. Reddy who took great care of Jo and Buster during their time there. We are lucky to have them in Franklin County.
A graveside service will be held Sunday May 29, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Richford Center Cemetery, South Richford Road with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. There will be no visiting hours.
For those who wish, contributions in Jos memory may be made to the Richford Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 236, Richford, VT 05476.
