Saint Albans - Judith “Judy” Harris, age 83, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2021 at the Villa Rehab Center.
She was born in Saint Albans on December 21, 1937 to the late Joseph and Julia (Jacobs) Daley.
Judy spent her childhood in Saint Albans. Her love of dancing started at a young age and it was her talent and passion that led her to leave Vermont to pursue her dreams. Judy made a name for herself by dancing and singing in night clubs all over the country, often performing alongside other rising stars of that time. She left show business around 1965 to devote her time to raising her daughter. Judy continued to captivate the hearts of everyone who came in contact with her. She spent the rest of her years finding ways to spread kindness and to help others.
Judy found joy in the simple pleasures of life and was happiest spending time with her family and beloved pets. She possessed a strong moral character, was quick to forgive others and always ready to offer comfort to those who needed it. Judy had the ability to make anyone smile and used her quick-witted humor to brighten the lives of others, especially those who cared for her in nursing homes during the last decade. She will be remembered for her love of her family, pets, music, wine, movies, reality tv, and junk food. Judy’s legacy will continue to live on through her loved ones and the many other people whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Harris; very special granddaughters, Chelsea Vanslette and Lacey Wimble; great grandchildren, Mila Vanslette and Cavan Jensen; her brother, Chris Daley and his family and many other extended family members. In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her longtime companion, Ira “Cookie/Elvis” Keith, her daughter’s father, Larry Harris, and her aunts and uncles.
