HIGHGATE CENTER - Judith A. Martin, age 81, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Brownway Residence in Enosburg Falls.
She was born in Schenectady, NY on February 27, 1943 to the late Romeo & Lula (Maynard) Gamache.
During her time on this Earth, Judith touched the lives of many through her work at the Haston Library in Franklin, where she shared her passion for literature and knowledge with all who walked through its doors. Her love for reading was apparent to all, and her dedication to her profession was unwavering.
Beyond her career, Judith found joy in the simple things in life. She had a talent for knitting, crocheting, and weaving, bringing beauty and warmth to those around her with her handmade creations. Her green thumb was unmatched, and her bountiful vegetable garden was a source of pride and sustenance, providing fresh produce that she canned, and generously shared with family and friends. Judith was a devoted mother and grandmother; she found the greatest happiness in spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Daniel Martin and his wife Therese of East Hardwick, Scott Martin and his wife Pamela of Highgate Center, and Kelly Martin and her significant other Frank Pruiksma of Enosburg Falls; six grandchildren, Colin Martin, Natalie Martin, Steven Martin and his wife Charlotte, Cassandra Martell and her husband Bryan, Cameron Martin and his significant other Jessica, and Maizey LaBounty; five great grandchildren, Jace, Rowan, Blake, Rylee, and Lola; her siblings, Mary Cauchon and her husband Dick, Richard Gamache, and Harland "Joe" Gamache and his wife Patrice; her sister-in-law, Charlene Cole and her husband Don; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Judith was predeceased by her husband, Donald F. Martin.
