St. Albans - After a period of declining health, Judy Comings has gone to check out the garage sales at a brand-new address.
She was born in St. Albans on May 14,1942 to the late Richard and Doris (Beaney) Comings.
Everyone that knew Judy knew of her passion for reading, cats and finding deals. This was great as she was co-owner of a secondhand shop, The Old School, in West Berkshire, with her parents. It still exists as Stuff and Things and she could be seen helping her sister, Sheila, right up until about two years ago.
She was a long-time manager of the DHIA in the 70's and 80's and upon leaving there, she decided to go back to school and achieve her associate's degree at CCV. CCV lead to her next chapter as secretary and all-around assistant to fellow employees, instructors and students alike. She was spunky, smart and had a great sense of humor. If you needed anything (including an opinion), she was quick to help. She was an avid reader and loved to play scrabble and cribbage.
She is survived by her sister, Sheila Fuller; a nephew, Richard Fuller II; her niece, Janet (Fuller) St.Hilaire and husband, Clem; great-niece, Shauna Larose and two great-great nieces, Sophia St.Hilaire and Bailey Martin. Also surviving her is her "adopted" nephew Jerry Hayden and close friend Diane Leach.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Doris Comings, brother-in-law, Richard "Dick" Fuller and numerous furry friends that I'm sure awaited her at the rainbow bridge with deafening purrs.
In keeping with Judy's wishes there will be no services.
