Judy A. Gadue

SWANTON – Judy A. Gadue, age 79, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2021 with her loving family by her side at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.  

She was born in Swanton on November 5, 1941 to the late Richard & Jane (Riley) Ryan.

Judy was an exceptionally talented and spiritual woman with a unique sense of humor. Not just anyone can be a belly dancer with a stage name of “Ayesha”, star karaoke singer, an avid reader, and the best “Granie” in the world. She adored her grandchildren and babysitting them were hands down the best moments of her life. Judy loved to travel, especially with her sister, Barbara and her friend, Karen. Her trips to Wells Beach, Maine and accomplishing the 251 Club were some of the most memorable vacations. She was a long-time parishioner of the Swanton Memorial United Methodist Church for years and she devoted countless hours to their Thrift Shop. She was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Vermont Grand Chapter 11. Judy retired from IBM after 30 years of dedication. She loved Snickers bars, Coca Cola, and singing along to 50’s music. Her family is at peace knowing that she is now resting, and maybe even enjoying the trip to Egypt that she always dreamed about.

She is survived by her son, James Gadue and his wife Donna of Rouses Point, NY; grandchildren, Arrien and Eva Gadue, and Zachary and Skyler Smith; siblings, Barbara Day, and David Ryan both of St. Albans, Kelly Connolly, and her husband Kevin of Swanton; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends, especially Karen; and her beloved cat, Chloe. Besides her parents, Judy was predeceased by her infant son, Michael Richard Gadue in October 1962; her former husband and friend, Dick Gadue; and sister-in-law, Martha Ryan.  

Family and friends are invited to Judy’s Life Celebration events to include visitation from 1-3:00 PM on Saturday, May 15, 2021 followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, VT. Interment with a bag piper will immediately follow in the Riverside Cemetery, River Street, Swanton.
