COOLIDGE, AZ. - Judith "Judy" (Grassette) Marcy passed away, with her family at her side on July 16, 2011 after a long illness.
Judy leaves her husband of 40 years, John Marcy of Coolidge, AZ. Judy was born on October12, 1946, in St Albans, VT, the daughter of the late Gilbert A Grassette, Sr and Ida Mae Grassette. Judy was predeceased by a son, William Nesbit, a brother, Gilbert A "Buddy" Grassette Jr., and a sister, Anita Grassette. Judy leaves behind a niece, Anne Grassette, a Great nephew, Andrew Bingham, Great nieces, Krista and Caitlin Bingham, Linley Bingham, and her husband Mat Fredericks, Grandsons, Andrew, Christopher and William Nesbit, Jr. As well, she leaves behind a godson, Matthew Billow.
Judy graduated from Enosburgh Falls High School, Fanny Allen School of Nursing and Castleton State College. Judy was an operating room nurse at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT, and Springfield Hospital, in Springfield, VT for many years. Judy was an avid quilter. She served as Director of Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts in Ludlow, VT. She and John taught quilting classes at Ho Ho Kam after moving to Arizona. Judy loved to travel and had visited all 50 states and as many lighthouses as possible. Nubble Lighthouse in Maine was one of her favorite destinations. Over the years several faithful K9 companions traveled the highways with Judy and John. There was rarely a time when a dog was not at Judy\u0027s side. The Collies, Molly and Chrissy, the Sheltie\u0027s, Nick and Belle, and currently Tunee who is part Poodle and all Love have brought Judy great joy. Judy got much pleasure from having the hospital dogs visit her. In 1997 Judy and John moved from Perkinsville, VT, to Coolidge, AZ, where Judy was actively involved in the community, first as Summer Manager of Ho Ho Kam Mobile Village, then as co-manager of the Sharing Hands Food Bank. Judy was instrumental in keeping the Food Bank going when it was in danger of closing. Judy was also a Lay Speaker at Spirit of Joy United Methodist Church.

A celebration of Judy\u0027s life will be held at Spirit of Joy United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 28th at 10 am with Rev Anna Bell and Rev Edwin Denham officiating. There will also be a memorial service after the first of the year at Ho Ho Kam Mobile Village when all of her camping friends have returned for the season. A remembrance gathering to held in Enosburgh, VT will be announced at a later date.
