Kathleen Greenwood

FRANKLIN - Kathleen J. Kat Greenwood, age 84, passed away Tuesday evening May 1, 2007 at the Redstone Villa Nursing Home in St. Albans.
\tShe was born October 16, 1922 in Franklin the only child of the late Henry Bernie & Beatrice (Tatro) Ploof.
\tKat married Henry Greenwood on October 28, 1944; he predeceased her on March 9, 1973. After Henrys death Kat spent winters in Florida and summers in Vermont. In 1983 she moved back to Vermont on a full time basis and resided in Swanton until 2005. While living in Franklin she attended St. Marys Catholic Church, and while in Swanton she attended the Church of the Nativity.
\tKat was a nurturer and loved nothing more than caring for children. She was Nanny to many children in Florida and Vermont. She was very quick witted, you didnt have to guess what she was thinking. She also had many stories to tell. She enjoyed baseball, and in her earlier years would be listening to ball games on the radio while watching another on the television
She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Darlene & Richard Cooper of Franklin; a son and his wife, Dale & Hannah Greenwood of DeLeon Springs, FL; 4 grandchildren, Trula Southwick her husband David and their children Coleman A. and Madison Kathleen Southwick of Sheldon, and Teja Cooper of Colchester, Dale Robert Morey and Daniel Morey and their families of New York. She also leaves a very dear family friend and travel partner, Irene Tatro of Franklin.
\tFuneral services will be held Saturday morning May 5, 2007 at 10:00 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery in Franklin.
\tA time of visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls.
