RICHFORD - Keith A. Smith, age 81, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington due to a sudden illness.
He was born November 9, 1933 in Richford the son of the late, Addison Bunk & Naomi (Coons) Smith.
Keith was a graduate of Richford High School and served in the U.S Army for 2 years stationed in Germany. Keith was a truck driver, driving for H.P. Hood and Blue Seal Feed - From one end of the cow to the other he used to say in Keith style. He ended his driving career as a school bus driver. Keith was also a maple syrup producer and was 2006 Sugar Maker of the Year and also served as a director of the FCMSMA.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cora Mae (Davis) Smith of Richford; his son, Aaron Rex Smith; his grandchildren, Alex Smith & Amber Sprague and her husband Zach; his brother, Wendell Smith and his wife Leona; his sister, Laura Isleib and her husband Donald; his stepsister, Patricia Korbich and her husband John; his sisters-in-law, Virginia Fleury and her husband Daton, and Gwendolyn Morton; many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and many cousins. Besides his parents, Keith was predeceased by his step-brother, Charles Bridges.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will follow in the Richford Center Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.
