Kelley Godin

July 6, 1965 — December 15, 2024

WINTHROP, ME - Kelley Sue Godin, 59, of Winthrop, ME, passed away on December 15, 2024, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 6, 1965, in Bakersfield, VT, Kelley was the daughter of the late Burton Hale and Elaine Cole. She was raised by her grandparents, Alton and Arlene Herron, in Bakersfield, VT, where she formed a deep bond with them that would influence much of her life.

In 1981, Kelley met the love of her life, Roger Godin. The two became inseparable, and they were married on November 8, 1986. Together, they raised three children: Randy, Carmin, and Christian.

Kelley's professional life was marked by her passion for the medical field, particularly in medical coding. She worked at Porter Hospital, Copley Hospital, Elliot Hospital, and Maine Med, eventually becoming a Sr. Manager of Coding. Kelley took great pride in her career, but her greatest accomplishments were her children and the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren.

A lover of horses, Kelley also had many hobbies that brought her joy, including sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, and gardening. Her love for cooking and baking, as well as her green thumb, were gifts passed down from her cherished grandparents and shared with her children and grandchildren.

Kelley's heart was happiest when surrounded by family, especially during the holidays. She loved gathering her loved ones and creating beautiful memories together.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Godin; her son Randy Godin of Berkshire, VT, and his girlfriend Abby; her daughter Carmin Godin of Rumford, ME; and her son Christian Godin of Winthrop, ME. Kelley's greatest joy came from her grandchildren: Hunter, Lillian, Annabelle, and Kevin.

She is also survived by her uncle Gerald and his wife Nicole, their daughters Jennifer and Tracy, as well as her siblings Audra Hale of Merritt Island, FL, Andrew Hale of Cave Creek, AZ, and Travis Hale of Fort Myers, FL. Kelley is also remembered by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Kelley will be remembered for her warm spirit, her love for family, and her ability to create lasting memories for those she cherished. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
