ENOSBURGH, VT - Kenneth P. Secor, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at his home in Enosburgh.
Ken spent most of his life in New Jersey, but loved spending time in Vermont. He married Jaye on October 10, 1964. In 1976 he founded Palmer Heating, which is now operated by his son Scott. Ken was multi-talented and his hobbies included enjoying the outdoors, playing the cello, playing Monday night pool and mainly spending time with his cherished family and friends. For the past several years Ken and Jaye lived full time in Vermont.
He thoroughly enjoyed his time writing Just for the Record , which was his column in the local New Jersey paper. Ken was considered an expert in the heating profession; he would write articles for trade journals and also travel around the world for conferences. Ken volunteered for several organizations throughout his lifetime including secretary and treasurer for A.S.H.R.A.E., board member of the Montgomery Historical Society, president of the Vermont Volvo Club and committee member of the Wild & Scenic group of Vermont.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Jaye Secor of Enosburgh; 3 sons, Kenneth W. Secor and his partner Susan Hanley of Sag Harbor, NY, Scott Secor and his wife Tracy of Rahway, NJ and Peter Secor and his wife Samantha of Hillsborough, NJ; 6 grandchildren, Victoria, Ryan, Kimberly, Kyle, Sydney and Jordan all of New Jersey; a sister, Janis Smith of Tampa, FL; a brother, Brad Harn of Melbourne, FL and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Ken was predeceased by his son Timothy Secor in 2004.
