NORTHFIELD / BELVIDERE - Kermet Justin Pa Eldred Jr., age 60, went to be with the Lord Saturday October 23, 2010 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington surrounded by his loving family after fighting courageously a long illness.
He was born in Burlington November 28, 1949 the son of Beverly (Casavant) Eldred and the late Kermet J. Eldred Sr.
Kermet was a kind, honest, fair and family oriented person. If he told you something he would follow it with Gospel . A loving, tender hearted father who did the best he could with what he had and always wanted the best for his kids and was supportive during hard times. He was always concerned with everyone getting along reminding them to forgive & forget . He was a practical joker, a trait he passed on to his children & grandchildren. He was professional in the art of garage saleing and had a knack for getting the price he wanted. He enjoyed, hunting, fishing, watching western movies especially John Wayne, riding around with his Mt. Dew, snickers bars and CB at his side.
Kermet was a born again Christian, a member of the Mountain View Tabernacle Church in Belvidere where he had also played the organ, and was a member of the Belvidere Cemetery Association.
He is survived by his mother who he talked to daily, Beverly Eldred of Belvidere; his children and their families, Kermet Justin Eldred III and his wife Gaberiel of Colebrook, NH, Kevin Beef Eldred Sr. his wife Kelly and his children, Kevin Jr, Jamie, Tarren & Hannah of Canaan, Jennifer Eldred her fianc Shawn Sweatt and her children, Tucker & Tobin Jackson of Stewartstown, NH, and Jessica McAllaster her husband Paul and their children Aidan, Kala Brooke of Stewartstown, NH; his first wife, mother of his children & friend, Cindy Therrien of Pittsburgh, NH; his brother, Artie Tanner of Belvidere; his sisters and their husbands, Beverly & Neale Brown of Colchester, Darleen & Ed Sherrer of Portland, ME, Debbie & Wes Wimberley of Selah, WA, Pammy & John Lyzanchuk of Yakima, WA, and Valery & Lee Gabbeitt of So. Burlington. Numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins that were all very special to him. Also his close and special friends including, Mark & Terri, Pat & Gary, Wayne & Evelyn. Besides his father, Kermet was predeceased by his wife, Cheryl (Steinhour) Eldred.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Mountain View Tabernacle Church, VT Route 109, Belvidere. Interment will follow in the Belvidere Center Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.
