BAKERSFIELD - Larry A. Burnor, age 71, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side Thursday June 28, 2012 at the St. Albans Health & Rehab facility.
He was born on Fathers Day, June 15, 1941 in Cambridge, Vermont the son of Freda (Touchette) Burnor and the late Charles Burnor.
Larry was a 1959 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. Following high school Larry entered the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Samuel N. Moore. Following his honorable discharge in 1963, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Georgetown, Connecticut. After that he began his career as a Radio & TV Repairman in Danbury, Connecticut where he worked for Main Radio & TV. In 1976, he returned to his roots of Vermont with his family where he continued this employment with Johnson Radio & TV and eventually went on his own for many years of service in the Franklin County area. He was also employed at Maple Leaf Farm in Underhill as Maintenance Supervisor retiring in 2001. After retirement he worked for Bobby Ts Custodial Cleaning where he serviced the many government buildings in St. Albans. He was a member of the American Legion Post #42 of Enosburg Falls and served as Post Commander in 1990-91
He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing and playing golf with his friends and family. He was a simple soul and will be greatly missed by all.
Besides his mother, Freda, he is survived by his two daughters and their spouses Gwen and Bernie Boudreau and Doreen and Jonathan Benoit, all of St. Albans, a son, L.A. Ross of Kapolei, HI; seven grandchildren, Seth & Mariah Boudreau, Nathan, Owen, Erin, Gavin & Ryan Benoit; three siblings and their spouses, James and Barbara Burnor of Hanahan, SC, Mary and Dale Walker of Elk City, OK and Theresa and Randy Tessier of Honea Path, SC; and many special aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the VA Hospital of White River Junction, Dr. Joseph ODonnell and to Franklin County Home Health Agency, especially Kimberly Volk who comforted all of us.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Maple Grove Cemetery, East Bakersfield Rd., Bakersfield, VT 05441.
