SHELDON - Laurel Buzzy Kittell, age 83, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 20, 1928 in Sheldon the son of the late Wallace W. & Velma (Beede) Kittell.
Buzzy graduated from Enosburg Falls High School class of 46 and served his country during the Korean conflict, he was stationed in Germany with his National Guard unit, 172nd Battalion, 43rd Division. He was a member of both the American Legion and the VFW. Buzzy worked at the Missisquoi Pulp and Paper Mill for 42 years. He loved the town of Sheldon and the family farm where he worked and resided. Spending time with his family and friends was his greatest joy. If one could describe Buzzy in one sentence it would be: a kind, loving, gentle man and it was an honor and pleasure to all who have known him.
He is survived by his love and the mother of his children, Audrey Jewett of St. Albans; a son, Michael Kittell and his wife Pam of Houston, TX; his daughters, Bonnie Martin and her husband Jim of St. Albans and Beth Machia and her husband Earl of Highgate; Audreys daughter, who was like a daughter to Buzzy, Andrea Jewett of St. Albans and her daughter Logan; his grandchildren, Brandi Samson and her husband Daniel, Jesse Mode and his wife Courtney, Jason Mode, Zackary, Dylan and Riley Machia and Stephanie Kittell; his Great Grandchildren, Laurel and Ty Samson and Noah Mode; his brother, Sherwood Kittell and his wife Cathy of Swanton; his brothers and sisters in law, Wilfred Minckler and his wife Rita of Sheldon, Marie Raymond and her husband, Buzzys best friend, Ralph of Sheldon and Pauline Minckler of Sheldon; several nieces, nephews and his beloved dog and constant companion, Susie.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Sheldon United Methodist Church, Church Road, Sheldon with Pastor Kerry Cameron officiating. Interment will follow at the Sheldon Village Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4-7 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
Buzzys family would like to thank Dr. Margaret Tandoh and the ICU nurses for the care provided to him at Fletcher Allen.
