ALBURGH - Lee Wayne Fife, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
He was born May 20, 1942 in St. Albans the son of the late Merrill Lee & Lela Hazel (Hubbard) Fife.
Lee grew up in Richford and also made his home in Swanton and for the past 26 years made his home in Alburgh In his younger years he worked at Sweat-Comings in Richford and General Electric in Burlington before becoming a rural mail carrier in Alburgh. He retired from the postal service in 2005 after 26 years of dedicated service.
Lee was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed to hunt, collect guns and play guitar. He also loved to watch baseball and was a diehard Yankees fan. Lee had a love of animals especially his cat Baby.
Lee is survived by his fiance, Debra Bevins of Alburgh; his children, Michelle Fife of Alburgh and Merrill Fife of Rouse Point, NY; and his grandchildren Myles Fife and Jenna Raye Hakey..
A time of visitation will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will take place following visiting hours on Thursday at 2:45 PM at the Richford Center Cemetery, South Richford Road, Richford.
