RICHFORD - Leland John Bonhomme Vincent, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at his home in Richford.
He was born in Richford on May 23, 1921 to the late Oswald & Clara (Duval) Vincent.
With the exception of the years he served in the U.S. Army during World War II Bonhomme lived his entire life in the home he was born in. He wanted to be in his home when his life on this earth ended and thanks to Franklin County Home Health Agency he was able to do so.
Bonhomme worked many years for the Towns of Richford and Enosburgh highway departments as a grader operator; it has been said by many that he was the best grader man those two towns ever had. Bonhomme was a kind and honest man and he was always willing to help anyone that he could. Before illness took its toll, Bonhomme enjoyed playing the fiddle and puttering in his work shop.
He leaves behind several nieces & nephews and close friends, David Boocock and his wife Deborah of Richford. Besides his parents, Bonhomme was predeceased by his 10 siblings.
Bonhomme loved and took comfort in the following words taken from the hymn Farther Along by W.B. Stevens, referencing scripture John 13:7 and Luke 24: 13-48. Farther along, well know more about it, Farther along well understand why; Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine, Well understand it all by and by .
