ENOSBURG FALLS - Lena H. Benoit, age 94, passed away Friday March 9, 2007 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
\tShe was born December 7, 1912 in Fairfield the daughter of the late Louis & Helen (Forant) Revoir.
\tIn 1921, the family moved to Enosburg Center where she attended school. She worked for several families in the area during her early years. On October 13, 1935 she married Arthur Benoit at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls. Their first years were spent in Sheldon where their two daughters were born. In 1943 they moved to Enosburg Falls and in 1950 they made their home on Missisquoi St. where she currently lived.
\tLena and Arthur were active in church work. She was treasurer of the St. Anns Society for several years. She was also a charter member of the Enosburg Falls Senior Citizens - Young at Heart Club. She enjoyed playing cards, BINGO, sewing and gardening.
\tShe is survived by her two daughters, Theresa Carman her husband Foster of Ballston Lake, NY and their four children, Martha Long and her children, Matt & Lindsay Long, Christopher Carman, James Carman & Michael Carman and his children, Heather & Tyler Carman; and by Jeannette Stewart and Neal of South Burlington; Two sisters, Elizabeth Sturgeon of Franklin and Connie Rock of Shelburne; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Arthur Benoit in 1991; four bothers, Arthur, Francis, Raymond & Richard Revoir; two sisters, Anna Stanley and Mildred Rivard.
\tIn accordance with Lenas wishes there will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass and burial will be announced later in the spring.
\tThe family would like to personally thank all of the caregivers, friends, and neighbors over the years who assisted them and allowed her to remain in her own home as she wanted. Your many visits, phone calls and card games were very important to her and she looked forward to them.
