Leonard Hemingway

HIGHGATE- Leonard D. Hemingway (Romeo), age 67 , passed away on Friday, April 26th, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Leonard was born on September 8, 1956, to Leonard and Barbara (Paquette) Hemingway.

Leonard loved the simple things in life like old cars and trucks, hunting and animals. He had a love for dogs and claimed his grand dog as his own, Tyson. He enjoyed hunting with his son-in-law and best friend Rick, they were not always successful but had a good time. He also loved motorcycles, specifically Harley's.

Leonard is survived by his children, Crystal Curran and her husband Rick, Christopher Hemingway and his wife, Victoria, Elizabeth Whitman and her husband Chris, and Travis Hemingway and his wife Jamie Labelle; grandchildren, Cody St. Francis, Shania White, Brianna Hemingway and life partner Cole Smith, Logan Hemingway, Macie Hemingway, Mckenzie Hemingway, Josh Hemingway, Ryan Hemingway, Justin Hemingway, Grace Hemingway, and Leah Hemingway; many great grandchildren; the love of his life, Shirley Lavender; siblings, Carla Walton, Ronald Hemingway and his wife Kathy, Mike Hemingway, Vicky Nutting, and Patty Sue; sister-in-law, Sue Paquette; cousin, Ricky Gabree and his wife Traci; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Leonard was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Paquette in 2003, father, Leonard Hemingway in 1992, twin granddaughters, Precious and Jolie in 2013, sister-in-law, Sharon Young in 2018, brothers-in-law, Billy Young in 1987, and Dave Walton in 2003, nephew, Bill Young, niece Renee Millet, his buddy, Carson Smith and several aunts and uncles.

A special thank you to Bayada Home Health and Hospice for their care, and especially Ally who was Leonard's social worker and who he called his girl, and nurses Liz and Emily.

In respecting Leonard's wishes there will be no public services.
