Linda L. Valiquette

May 15, 1947 — February 24, 2020

NORTH HERO - Linda L. Valiquette, age 72, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester.

She was born in New Haven, CT on May 15, 1947, the daughter of the late Dorothy Pardee.

Feisty, spirited, intelligent, kind, generous, headstrong, hard-working, multi-faceted, an unforgettable whirlwind of energy, these are just a few of the words to describe this unique individual who often motivated others to aspire to these same attributes.

A lifelong lover of plants, gardening, animals, art, music (she went to Woodstock in 1969!) a devoted fan of Star Wars, Star Trek, LOTR, The Hobbit, and all things involving Dragons, Fairies, Vampires, and Wolves. A fitness buff who loved being outdoors tinkering in her gardens or indoors adding to her massive collection of books, records, puzzles, LEGOs, DVDs, pop culture collectibles, dishes, knick-knacks, and bric-a-brac.

Linda spent her youth and early adult years in and around Hamden, Ct. Married at 19, mother of 2 by 24, single mom by 28, meeting her true-life partner, Paul Valiquette, in 1981 and finally relocating to Vermont in 2000. They built a home in North Hero overlooking Lake Champlain while she ran their company Alpha Concrete Inc. with her formidable management and organizational skills. All who came to their home were treated like family. In late 2017 she was diagnosed with a rare aggressive cancer and after a more than 2-year battle is finally at peace.

The Force will be with her, always. Miss her, we will.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Paul Valiquette of North Hero; children, Paul, Victoria, Tammy, and Lisa; grandchildren, Meagan and her husband Maxwell, Max, Josh, Jake, Brendan, and Ethan; brother, David; sister, Shirley; and her four legged companions Gizmo (dog), Luna, and Naytiri (cats).

A time of visitation and celebration of Lindas life will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, VT 05488. Casual, no suits, no ties, just bring love!
