BERKSHIRE - Linda A. Wetherby, age 52, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born in St. Albans on March 14, 1960 the daughter of Shelby (Levick) Wetherby and the late Bernard Wetherby.
Linda was a 1978 graduate of Missisquoi Valley Union High School. She was employed at as a machine operator for the last 14 years at Vermont Precision Tools in Swanton.
Linda was a very strong willed and opinionated woman who looked out and cared for everyone and was very proud of her Indian heritage. She loved family gatherings, children, listening to Elvis, coloring pictures, making latch hook rugs, fishing, NASCAR racing, mud bogging and last but not least, Coors Light. She will be remembered for wearing her trademark Bandana wherever she went.
She is survived by her mother, Shelby (Levick) Wetherby of Berkshire; her brothers, David Wetherby of Berkshire and Peter Wetherby of Richford; nieces & nephews, Jason, Heather, Matt, Dustin & Glen; many aunts, uncles & cousins; her very good friends, Sykie Leach of Enosburg Falls and Robert & Terry Delorme of Franklin; her faithful companion, Sophie. Linda also loved and raised four children like they were her own, Martika, Malcolm, Aleen & Alayna. Besides her father, Linda was predeceased by her sister, Mary Wetherby.
Lindas family and friends wish to thank Dr. Christian Thomas, Shelly Bonnette, Christine Surratt and the entire staff of the Vermont Cancer Center for the wonderful care given to Linda during her illness. They would also like to thank the management and co-workers at Vermont Precision Tools for their support shown to Linda.
Funeral services will be held Thursday May 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 222 Missisquoi St., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Roger Charbonneau celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in the St. Louis Cemetery in Highgate.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening from 5-8 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
