Colchester/Berkshire - Loretta Frances Record, 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington following a short illness, surrounded by her family.

Loretta was born on December 3, 1922 in Montgomery, the daughter of the late Fred Pete Lumbra and Ethel (Kennett) Lumbra. She was married to Lloyd Lumbra on September 3, 1946 in Richford and to Vernon Buddy Record on May 5, 1961 in Berkshire.

Loretta was born and raised in Montgomery and attended the Montgomery schools. When she married Buddy, they moved to Berkshire where she resided for over 40 years. Loretta had made her home in Colchester with her daughter for the last seven years.

Loretta was a homemaker who devoted her life to raising her family. She especially enjoyed family gatherings and parties and was interested in Bozos farm and Normas flower gardens. She also enjoyed shopping, playing cards, yard sales, going out to eat, especially for breakfast, and sitting on the porch in the summertime. As a cook, Loretta made the best homemade beans.

Loretta is survived by her daughter, Norma Juaire and her husband Duane of Colchester, her son, Lloyd Bozo Lumbra and his wife Diane of Berkshire, four step-sons, John Record of Rutland, David Record and his wife Tina of Richford, James Record and his wife Peggy of Berkshire and Thomas Record and his wife Susan of Cornwall. Loretta is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephanie Juaire of Burlington, Aaron Juaire and his wife Debbie of Jeffersonville, Bradley Lumbra and his wife Kara of Berkshire and Leanne Blanchard and her husband Seth of Georgia, Christopher Record of Denton, TX, Danielle Record of Essex, Ashley Record of Colchester, Angela Carpenter and her husband Rene of Bristol, Kristin Tracy and her husband Christopher of Richford and Jennifer Lavigne of Cornwall. Loretta is also survived by eleven great grandchildren with another due in June; a sister-in-law, Muriel Record Toczko of Wallingford, CT; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Bertha Lamore of Bakersfield; and her cat, Missy.

Loretta was predeceased by her husband, Buddy, on July 12, 1979; a daughter-in-law Lorraine Record on June 23, 2008; four half-brothers Clarence, Hardy, Ulric and Joseph Cat Lumbra; and four half-sisters, Louise Tevyaw, Virginia Gonyea, Florence Tatro and Jessie Blair.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will take place in the Berkshire Center Cemetery at a later date, at the convenience of Lorettas family.
