ST. ALBANS / FAIRFAX - Lorraine Lavinia Towle, age 91, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with her loving family at her side.
She was born June 26, 1919 in Franklin the daughter of the late Hiram S. & Inez E. (Westcot) Willard.
Lorraine was a resident of St. Albans from 1948 until 2005 when she made her home with her daughter in Fairfax. She was a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church in St. Albans. She was employed at W.T. Grants in St. Albans for many years.
Lorraine enjoyed knitting, crocheting and making clothes for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Arlan Skip Towle III and his wife Ann of Essex Jct.; 2 daughters, Calista and her husband Chreston Rabtoy of Fairfax, and Bernice and her husband Dr. William Leahy of St. Albans; her grandchildren, Calinda Turner and her husband Bruce, Joseph Belisle and his companion Debbie, Alissa (Towle) Rollins and her husband Michael, Amanda (Towle) Houlier, Sarah Leahy, and Craig Leahy and his wife Shannon; her great grandchildren, Scott & Kevin Turner, Jared & Jade Rollins, Regis & Juliette Houlier, Ryker & Macayla Leahy, and Gavin & Eathan Collingham; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Arlan S. Red Towle Jr. on February 13, 2000. Lorraine & Red were married on July 9, 1942. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Esther Kinney & Hyla Gates
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the East Franklin Union Church, Lake Road, East Franklin with Pastor Jason McConnell officiating. Interment will follow in the East Franklin Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.
